Overview

Nàvràkij Se was founded durring the late 14th century in spring of the year 1288, by Zegadonh Crowther. The establishment of Nàvràkij Se was only bairly constructed. The sheer number of problems with its founding were enough to make several of the backers funding Nàvràkij Se's construction back out of the project. Zegadonh Crowther pushed on reguardles, and Nàvràkij Se was finished, but starts off as a terible place to live.

Nàvràkij Se was built using the conventions of Tauric durring the late 14th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Nàvràkij Se is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature masoned stone construction which prominantly features pointed arches, pointed ribbed vault cielings, flying buttress', and window tracery all of which share a simmilar gemoetetic patern halfway between organic and inorganic in design formaing a very distinct aesthetically integrated style. BUildings tend to reach for the havens, and more expencive homes are easily identified by their floor count as well as the addition of decorative features intigrated into the building's design such as statues, gargoyals, and embelished joinery.

Nàvràkij Se is buildings are built arround a single spacious flagstone mainstreet which forms a counterclockwise spiral to give the town a over all circular shape. The town sits comfortably behind a palisade wall complete with a timber gatehouse and battlments. Nàvràkij Se's timber-based walls are suffering from significent damage, so much so that examples can be pointed to no matter which section one might have within their line of site, and most of which render sections inoperable at present.

A look around Nàvràkij Se has something terribly wrong with it. It’s impossible to put one’s finger on, but something is horribly wrong. Maybe it’s the way fog blankets the ground, but only in the connors of places. Maybe it’s the vermin scuttling between shadows in the corner of your eyes. Perhaps it’s the overcast sky which seemed to creep out of nowhere, or the distant howling of wolves. Maybe it’s all of those things together, or perhaps it's the way these elements combine which makes you worry someone might stab you in a dark ally for your boots. It’s not filthy, or dark, but the smiles seem strained, the locals seem to glare daggers in eachothers backs a little too much, and everyone is armed at all times. You may want to keep an eye on your valuables, and make sure you don’t wind up in any position of power. Regardless, you do not feel it would be wise to remain in Nàvràkij Se long.

Civic Infrastructure

Nàvràkij Se has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Nàvràkij Se.

Nàvràkij Se has a Gravedigger's Guild, which is responsible for collecting the dead and laying them to rest according to all applicable laws and religious customs.

Nàvràkij Se has a Highwayman's Guild, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.

Nàvràkij Se has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Nàvràkij Se's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.

Nàvràkij Se possesses an older civil lighting system consisting of street lamps. These lights provide nighttime illumination to most city streets.

Nàvràkij Se has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands.

Nàvràkij Se has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Cultural Notes

Nàvràkij Se's bank was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is characterized by dynamic designs and complex architectural plan forms; intended to heighten feelings of motion and sensuality, and frequently based on the oval. It made extensive and extreme use of: Grandeur, Contrast, Curves and twists, Rich surface treatments, Gilded statuary, Bright colors, Vividly painted ceilings, Fragmented or deliberately incomplete elements, Large-scale frescoes, Dramatic central projections on an external facade, the use of plaster, stucco, or marble finishing, Illusory effects such as trompe l’oeil, and pear-shaped domes. While beloved by the nobility, the common folk tended to despise the style due to the massive consumption of resources required for even a small building constructed in this style.

In Nàvràkij Se there are unidentifiable people in the fog, but it seems to be okay.

The Peafowl near Nàvràkij Se are known to be a mutant strain of the creature.

Nàvràkij Se's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in winter and involves gestures to channel Mysticism energies of tier 3 via recitation of poetic epics.

Points of Interest

Nàvràkij Se is surrounded by dangerous terrain: miasmatic swamps, perilous crevasses, radioactive badlands, a pocket of or some other harmful topography. Nàvràkij Se might prefer the defensive potential of the terrain here, or have found a precious resource worth the danger. The terrain might have formed at some time since the founding, with the citizens struggling to make terms with the new danger.

Nàvràkij Se's roads were poorly made when first laid. Rather than repairing them correctly, a series of new roads was laid atop the old, leading to the streets of modern Nàvràkij Se suffering from potholes, cracking, and even sinkholes. The locals often repair the road by putting down wooden decking.
